A House is Not a Home

An empty house is not a home
If you don't want to be alone
It's just an empty, vacant space,
So touch nothing and leave no trace,
'Cause now this place is foreign land
So hold your breath and lay no hand
Upon these artifacts not yours,
These meaningless and strange decors.
So find a place to sit and wait
Until you hear that squeaky gate
And know again you're not alone-
And so a house becomes a home.
