ONCE UPON A TIME (Her Version)

Folder:
Fantasy

Once upon a time in a red and yellow room,
I saw a boy staring outside the window.
He looked my way. Everything started to bloom.
I felt my heart beats as I saw his eyes glow

Every waking up has been so wonderful.
He’s always been the first thought that rushes in my mind.
His smile and everything in him was just so cool.
The whole of him had made my heart blind.

Just then I began to think of us together.
He gave me reasons to dream for a moment.
I was wondering if a glance could last forever.
Made me expect that he was the one that God sent.

In my days of happiness, there was always been a doubt.
Asking myself, “Is love enough, without proving such?”
I got so into him, believing he’s the one I can’t live without.
Then he told me, “I didn’t love you that much.”

It had been as quick as the blink of an eye.
Like a thief in the night, he stole my heart.
He made me realize that it will never be “You and I”
I should have known this right from the start.

From that time, my life had never been the same.
In all of a sudden, all the colors had turned gray.
He left me like he doesn’t know my name.
He disappeared in the most agonizing way.

How could he be soundly asleep in his castle?
While I stay awake, thinking how tragically it ended.
Still I’m living under his love spell.
I’m stuck in this moment he had intended.

The spark of my eyes had faded away.
Flowers wilted, rain poured like they’re mourning with me.
In his charms, I’ve became a captive – a willful prey.
There were all his illusions that caused my insanity.

What I wanted is a Happily Ever After,
Then all I got was a sugar-coated fairy tale.
I’m still wishing he’ll be my prince sooner or later.
But to be his princess, that’s when I always fail.

He left me with one choice and that is to forget.
Since then, sorrow fills even the sound of a chime.
Yet I’m still thankful and my heart won’t ever forget.
Cause at least I spent with him a Once-Upon-A-Time.

Author's Notes/Comments:

More often, you're not being aware of yourself falling for someone who is not worth it. Even right from the start, all the clues were already there, but still nothing can't halt a girl's beating heart.

Beautifully written. I've

Beautifully written. I've never been much for fairytales... even as kids we weren't really read too many of them. Don't like to see parents raising their kids on them to this day...I see what they do to people---especially girls. You write beautifully!!!

...and he asked her, "do you write poetry? Because I feel as if I am the ink that flows from your quill."

"No", she replied, "but I have experienced it. "

That's really nice of you

Thankyou for reading this! It was posted a long time ago and here you are, even leaving a comment. That's really nice of you. I like to say that, fairytales may do come true. They make people believe and hope for their one true love :) They aren't bad after all.

Hello M'Lady

My Lady Damsel,
This poem is sad but with a touch of hope... I noticed a few minor things wrong with the way it reads, but they're nothing that can't be fixed unlike love not returned. I see you're a renfair maiden, I too am a renfair Man, (oct. las vegas, NV.Renfaire)I am a guild wizard, and advisor in my son's court (he's a baron but soon to be High Lord of southern calif. (maybe)). I'll be watching (because thats what wizards do LOL) you and your posts. May all yours days be as beautiful as you. Good eve my lady... Ps where do you hail from (which is your home renfaire?)
