A Flock of Seagulls sang this tune
Back then our mideast conflict was brand new
Just some hostage ballyhoo

Trump cares less 'bout global ties
His blatant lies destigmatize our gloom
And legitimize his coup

But Iran
Iran's so far away
It's Iran
Their night looks like our day
We'll make it go away

Dark clouds appear above our head
Catastrophic turmoil overdue
Because tensions grew and grew

The drones are moving nearer still
General Soleimani comes in view
Blown away, not just in two

But Iran

We couldn't get away

Impeachment changed his campaign's face
His poll numbers sliding out of view
Re-election spells our doom

He doubled down and tried again
Amidst his havoc countries come unglued
United Nations concept misconstrued

But Iran
Iran's so far away

So we ran
We ran so far away
We just ran
We really wished we'd stayed
Longer than yesterday.
