"Protégé"

by DaddyO

Behold the smiling protégé
Whose lips still speak of dark dismay
A familiar kiss 'tween two unknown
Puckered lips, wide eyes shut sewn
Like threads ripped free from stitches worn
Are fledgling friendships bad to be born?
Mentor learns from protégé
That tables turn all different ways
Fear is freed by the shears of trust
Entropy circumventing lust
Though hidden well in the darkened hues
Of our memory banks the blacks and blues
Shine bright like gold and silver coins
Priceless since our souls conjoined
Indeed, the smiling protégé
Hearts stored away in their attache
What took others forever to say
We both conveyed in just one day
