I am gladdened of the note you made of the tone in this poem which I have in the past described as "exedraeic" in style due to the intimate conversational style that it exudes. It may be likened to a stage whisper that is both intimate and even conspiratorial in its execution and feel. I believe there are writers that write almost exclusively in this manner.
