Dusk & Cigarettes

Folder:
For My Truest Love

There's something about the smell of that cigarette when the sun is setting behind your eyes

The tiny orange light reflects off the partly cloudy purple glow in the skies

As I touch your hand to let you know you're thought of my thoughts trail off to you and me later on

We're kissing and hugging and loving each other wildly until the dark of night is just about gone

Your face and the dusk and the cigarette smell capacitate my mind

And all the bad stresses from my whole entire day- i just leave them all behind

You are my evening news- the only thing I want to comprehend

There aint shit else I want to deal with but you, you, you- i can't even pretend

When nightfall arrives and we're together again all i wanna do is give you me

I wanna turn off the lights and close my eyes, stumble over some shit because I can't see

I want you to know you're the only one that can bring my day to a perfect close

And you do it so damn perfectly- the way that no one else knows

It's night time now- so light a cigarette and let's watch the sun dip off the distance

Then when you're done, take off your clothes- matter of fact do that this instant

I want to love you til the sunrise with sticky skin and stanky morning breath perfume

I want to feel the sunlight peek through blinds and fill up every room

Then we'll sleep until the darkness comes and it's once again our time of day

When the smell of smoke rises and falls and the repetitious daytime just goes away
