Johnny boy

O I hope you're listening Johnny boy, because this one's for you

We'll sing a song of promises, the old ones and the new.

From when the shutters open

Until the last bell cries!

Till the beer and whiskys flowing from our drunken bloodshot eyes

From the dear old haunts of Glasgow

To the bars of London town

To Greece and Spain and back again

We'll never put the last pint down

In the godsend of our younger days,

Through all times good and sad

When the money was all plentiful

Down to the last pound that we had

I've had many friends in this life,

and more acquaintances to date

But in times of loveless hardship

A man needs his best mate

O I hope your listening Johnny boy, because this one's for you

We'll sing a song for promises, the old ones and the new

From days long gone back in the past

And for the days we've still to see

Go and get the next round in, cos the last one was on me!
