A Thing of Value Gone Forever

A Thing of Value Gone Forever

Don’t turn your head for just one moment,
for in that moment, life will pass;
And things you value, gone forever,
without full attention, nothing lasts.
Though my love I could not see,
You were always there for me.

Love not cared for as a budding rose,
nor nurtured carefully every day;
Will wilt and wither in a moment,
if you dare to look away.
Though my love I could not see,
You were always there for me.

Love that is lost can never be regained,
Though the tears and heart break freely;
I pass the years in sorrows woes,
both Love and Passion follow weakly.
Though my Love I could not see,
You were always there for me.

In the future years are cast,
an emptiness and loneliness of the soul;
For I turned my head for just one moment,
And in that moment life did pass and I was no longer whole.
Though my love I could not see,
You were always there for me.

I lost you, and in that loss, I lost my mate,
each and every day I ask, LORD why,
He tells me to walk with Him, be patient,
Life is temporal, do not hate,
For both you and her I cry, but eternity awaits.
Though my love now I see,
both you and He were always there for me.
