LOOKING BACK

LOOKING BACK

Looking out the window I saw the light of day;
remembering when I was a child and went out to play.

*

Life was so less complex then;
all I would think about was playing in my Den.

*

I dreamt what it was like to be free;
like the sparrow, flying in the tree.

*

I remember the day when the Sun had not shone;
I knew then that the Summer had gone.

*

Those cold bitter nights when Jack Frost came knocking;
as I looked out my window, it was shocking!

*

The Winter rolled by and Spring came again;
joy flooded my soul, while gazing out my open pane.

*

My eyes filled with excited fun;
what a thrill it was to see the Sun!

*

Beaming radiant light rays warming my window sill;

I bathed in its glorius warmth, no more cold days and winter chill.

*

I look back at those childhood days,
in my mind it’s just a haze.

*

Today I look through my window once more;
I see a reflection of looking back for sure.

*

I see the world in all its glory;

looking back to tell my story.

Great poem ^_^. It's nice to travel down memory lane once in a while. I often do that too being a sentimental person. Sometimes, I find myself in nostalgic trance especially when I go back to my childhood place. It's such a wonderful feeling. I love this poem ^_^.

Can't help but read more of your poems :). This sounds good! Some nostalgic moment you got here. I, myself, loves looking back and imagining what once been, especially remembering the good old past :). Nice flow of ideas...
