A bus ride to Bidor from Little India

All the must see attractions of Little India are within walking distance of each other. This bustling neighbourhood although quite compact sees about a thousand visitors in a single day. The small size ensures that the number of attractions are limited but the emphasis is more on the quality. This lets you shop for things that are of good quality and are priced lower than the market rates. Of course, no visit to Little India will be complete with a visit to a temple of some sort. Temples from all 3 different religions of Hinduism, Islam and Buddhism stand alongside each other with great pride.

Earlier UI had no plan of visiting Little India but I was somehow forced to visit this place and I am quite happy with it. After experiencing an altogether different world that exists in such a compact place.  I was heading towards Malaysia and while booking my bus tickets from  redbus, Little India was mentioned as the Bus boarding point and this is when I came across this place for the first time.  It is believed that Little India is Singapore’s largest market place and a major transportation hub.

The one place that I liked the most at Little India was Mustafa Centre that is open 24 hours of the day and a place where you will find under one roof. Many shoppers come to this centre from the surrounding neighbourhood along with a fair share of tourists. The place although a little disorganised and jam-packed everyday yet one of the most visited places in Little India. Among the several malls that are present at Little India, this is one of the cheapest that I visited.  Mustafa Centre is located right in the heart of Little India so you will be spoilt for choice as to where to eat.

In addition to the electronics, super market there is an entire level dedicated to fresh produce at Mustafa Centre. There are about 3 popular Operators plying on the route between Little India and Bidor.  The One Travel and Tours, Starmart Express and Lapan Lapan were the Operators plying on this route. The One Travel and Tours has about four buses plying throughout the day from 8:30 am in the morning till 10:00 pm in the night. This is one of the best things about this Operator as you get a varied timeline to select from. The cost of the tickets start from SGD51 and go up all the way to SGD70 depending upon the class of Bus you book.

The One Travel and Tours operates Executive class of Coaches and has about 20 seats in each bus. Another Operator plying on this route was Starmart Express, which is also a luxury Coach Operator tickets for which start from SGD60. They had about 2 buses plying throughout the day one at 9:00 am and the other at 10:00 pm in the night. I booked a bus, which was supposed to leave at 10:00 pm with Starmart Express.
