Step Away From Gray

Colorless crashes against gray shores of my life
my thoughts a pseudo black nor is it quite white
not clearcut nor targeted or very precise
Step away from gray, make a decision that’s wise
leaning on wisdom, avoiding destructive demise.
Old yellowed blinds cast a despairing
shadow regrets on the face of my wall,
graying attempts to try to get through it all
So many times I’ve tried to rise from this place,
my errors in life that I just can’t erase.
Peels of my past, pieced together in my ink
trying to forget, but too lost to even think
Trails of words spaced to relate what I know,
trace syllables groaning with no place to go.
leaning on wisdom, avoiding destructive demise
step away from gray, make a decision that’s wise.
