Suicide Queen and the Shotgun Romeo

Foolish eyes and a scandelous smile

I should of known not to get my hopes up with you

but the days gone by and the nights on its way

so lets pass slitting wrist and go right for the throat

you left your mark like a dog pissing on new found ground

forget tomorrow, its a rose garden we were never promised

suicide queen and the Shotgun Romeo

we make such a beautiful team

whats money? when we drink and snort it away

im not the sick one, i know exactly what im doing

the preacher man and the principal

taught me right from wrong

couldnt say the same for you, baby

but i never saw us together forever

you weighed me down, but i cant let you leave

when your dead and gone, dont forget about me

the spotlights for my taking

and your dance is done,..i love you baby

but i'll miss you ..so long

i must admit you are second to my first love,

media, she promised me fame for my sins

a jail cell was never meant for me

6 feet underground and my face on TV is my promised-land

Author's Notes/Comments:

Bonnie and Clyde, Natural Born Killers influenced poem but with even more of a Pshycotic twist in which the "shotgun romeo" is obsessed with fame to a point that he would kill the love of his life, just to gain full covergae for himself.

I love your work. It interests me....and I'm not quite sure why. Normally I'm not drawn to poetry that's not based on love, but this one caught me by surprise. Good luck with all you do.
