I'd waited for what seemed like an eternity
For someone who would catch my eye
And all the while you were right in front of me
But one night you took me by surprise

You let yourself come undone
And as the colors poured from you
They began to run together
Our futures could be together too

I can't believe how you can miss
So easily what's in your view
I can't believe all this time my wish
Had always been in front of me, inside of you

I had only seen you
As attractive but not much more
But as I began to see the truth
I began to see your very core
And not just the cover that you wore

You always hid yourself inside of your pain
And no one bothered to look inside
Your hopes were beginning to fade
And the future was out of sight
Until that fateful night

We saw each other as more than we thought
Hope was rekindled in our hearts
Hope for which these years we had fought
Maybe together this would be a new start

I'm so thankful for what I've found
For the light you've shown to me
And for the beautiful sound
Our future seems like an eternity.
