SUMMER

  SUMMER

     How fast it does pass.

I can't understand.  Summer beach sand running through the glass.

Soon it'll be out of reach.

A world keeps turning.  A heart keeps yearning.

Yearning for it not to end.  It's so hard to defend.

Clouds so soft, so slow go across the sky.

  They scream so loud.

Clouds so faster than a dream, quickly pass across the sky.

It makes you want to cry.

A story over and over told.

Soon, summer folds, winter takes hold, the weather gets cold.

No rhyme or reason go the seasons.

It seems like it did just start.

It's already halfway gone.  Such is the cool night before the dawn.

It's already halfway done.  Soon, over will be the fun.

Almost closed is the door.  A fact I can't ignore.

One thing I know, we have the other half to go.

Soon, me and you'll part.  It's hard on a heart.

No longer skies blue.  A fact sorry, but true,

The skies'll be white and grey.

   A long time to stay.
