              A knock on my door.

              Who could it be?

              I went to see.

              It was something I could'nt ignore.



               Cats and phones.



             I hoped it was a dream.  I wanted to scream.

             A man with a huge box, he began to talk.

A huge cat food case.  I wanted to be in a different place.  

            There was also a bill.  It was not a thrill.



                   Cats and phones.



              It was true.  I was very blue.

              I did'nt know what to do.

              This I could'nt explain.  I was in pain.

It would have been funny, except it was a lot of money.



                   Cats and phones.



                I needed to pay.  

                  He wanted his money today.

                 What could I say.  

                 Maybe I should pray.
