A LIE

Folder:
COUNTRY POEMS

When I looked in you eye,

A crash landing, on what was supposed to be

              a nice fly.

You never even gave me a try.

You never even told me why.

             It was all a lie.

You returned me to the store, where me you did buy.

You knocked me to the floor.

       You ran out the door.

A sound louder than a killer whale roar.

A feeling too big and painful to ignore.

               It was all a lie.

              I wanted to cry.

              I wanted to die.

It was like a gone chocolate pie.

Right after you said hi, you said bye.

             It was all a lie.

To me, you were saying no.

There was no place that we were going to go.

In my boat you did not want to row.

In my pool, you did not want to float.

               It was all a lie.

Oh, it was all a lie.

Yeah, it was all a lie.
