THE WEST

Folder:
COUNTRY POEMS

             I really love the west.

             I have been a guest, a lot.

In the east, I felt I was a dot.

In the east, under the pressure, I felt

             I was going to melt.

The pressure was tight around me like

             a belt.

I think the west is best.

The east really can be a beast.

It's the area I like the least.

        The north is really cold.

It is getting old.  I have seen it and done it all

The south gives me a dry mouth

I think the west is best.

      The mountains sre so high.

A land that is certainly not bland.

Where the sky extends further than the eye can see.

Where the cacti stretch up to the sky.

      The animals too.

More than you could find in a zoo.

I think the west is best.

       There are the rivers.

       There are the lakes.

No, a trip here is certainly not a mistake.

       There are the parks.

Yosemite is really something to see.

       Yellowstone

I think the west is best.

It fits me like a glove.

All the open space there is to see.

A place where I can truly be me.

There is not the crowdness of the cities.

With all of their people witty.

I think the west is best.
