THE NEW JOB BLUES

Folder:
COUNTRY POEMS

   I don't have a dollar.

It makes me want to holler.

I feel like a dog on a collar.

I am a hog to the slaughter.

I got the new job blues.

   I got no vacation.

I get only one TV station.

   I don't have a nickel.

I am really in a pickle.

I got the new job blues.

   I'm working longer than 9-5.

   I no longer feel alive.

How am I going to survive.

Here, I am not going to thrive.

I got the new job blues.

   I'm working like a dog.

   I'm sweating like a hog.

In this bog, I am going to fall.

It's worse than holiday shopping at the mall.

Oh, I've got the new job blues.

Yeah, I've got the new job blues.
