'We've found a cure!'

I heard my doctor say.

'We can rid you of Lupus

and send it away!'



I was stunned,

so totally amazed!

I ran around giddy,

like I was crazed!



'Give me the cure!'

I shouted in glee!

'I've waited so long,

now set me free!'



She picked up a vial

and filled a syringe.

I'm so use to needles,

I didn't even cringe.



I rolled up my sleeve,

anxious to start.

I felt pure joy

inside of my heart.



The needle went in,

I felt the sharp stick.

Then I awoke from my dream

still diseased and sick.
