Letters

No stars grace the sky tonight

And the moon has already set

I sit and read by candle light

Moments I'd much rather forget

But no line goes unread tonight

Compelled to read every one

Every word too clear and phrase as bright

As though lit by the too distant sun

No kinder words were ever said

Than these at my fingertips

Condemned to only ever be read

And not pass from mortal lips

No one shares my life tonight

My path has already been set

I rub my eyes in the morning light

Knowing I will never forget

Good poem. Kinda picked up a cynical perception because most of the poetry on this site sucks. Yours was an eye opener and very refreshing. Awesome work.

What a nice descriptive poem this is.
I can feel the ire of the sender.
