Hippos In Love a Beginning

Beginning

Soft splash as she enters the water

The river licks the grass flavored banks

Sunlight glistens off her wet, gray back

And leaves me enchanted

How can I begin to tell her

What she means to me

That she's warmer than the sunshine

More comforting than a willow tree

How can I begin to hope

That she feels these feeling, too

It's so difficult for us

I wonder what the animals do?
