She Was Right

Don't you?

In that last darkness

When the sky goes

Black

With eyelid pitch

And braindead

Formality

It might as well have been

A dream

And not a very good one at that

You never realize

Until you see it

The terrible beauty

Of someone slipping away

As though death

Had hands of feathers

Gently resting upon

The face of god

As another one of his creations

Lets go

You see now

Don't you

She said

With a laugh

You can't go back

She was right
