Solitary Silence

Shattered into pieces by the words he said
locked in a gilded cage among the ruins
this war is not over; it’s only just begun
destined to die here in solitary silence
rivers of tears burning like lava
cut like shards of glass
permanent scars; the remnants of battle
words trying to escape my mind

blood turns cold with the death of my soul
frostbite numbs my body
as my hearts freezes, I lie in my cage
stuck on the words "I love you"
Until, alone, I die in solitary silence...
