Soldier

A lone soldier on a long abandoned battlefield

fighting a war thought to be lost long ago

Walk among the dead and wounded

keep your faith in them and heal their hearts

Your tears stir their souls and awaken them

watch them rise with you and see the other side

And as their smiling angelic faces march along side of you

Realize that even a lone soldier never walks alone.

Interesting. Can help but wonder what prompted you to write this one
