Throw away your mirror.

Years spent carelessly,

Timeless, bottomless purse,

The end of innocence,

Your curse;

The clock begins to run out.

He really looks at him,

really looks at him,

Finally - their eyes meet and he sees.

The sparkle in his eyes,

The shape of his brow,

The curve of his smile,

He sees it all now.

So similar,

So painfully familiar,

He realises what we have all known along.

Denial is never the best route to take,

but when you're born secretly knowing,

it becomes a part of you.

He sees another part of him,

Utterly frightened,

he feels a stirring in his heart,

The missed birthdays,

phone calls, presents and cards,

never recieved.

He examines his "loss",

Finally,

he sees his reflection staring back at him

and he realises,

he never needed a mirror at all.
