The Law Doesn't Protect A Whore

Screams from other jailcells,

Tears falling down her face,

This lost little girl doesn't know of what her fate,

Is or what to expect,

When she wakes up the next day,

The Top Dog said that she's after her,

That she'd make her fucking pay,

She's heard about places like these,

But thought she'd be ok,

Thought she could pretend to be a rock solid bitch,

That nobody would wanna hurt her anyway.

She's starting to shake and shiver,

And she's getting those butterflies,

The ones that eat your insides,

Slowly.

Banging on the walls make her feel safe,

As she knows there's five inches of concrete between her and the fist,

But when tomorrow comes...

Oh fuck. How did it come to this?

It wasn't her fault Mummy left her,

For a fucking rich guy on a bike,

It wasn't her fault that Daddy killed himself,

And her family took a hike.

She didn't want to prostitute,

Herself to those ugly men,

Leering over her in her own bed,

As she bit her lip and acting like they'd broke her back.

Sweat pouring over their foreheads,

As they licked her all over her face,

She sits up in the dark jailcell,

Looks around the morbid place.

Does she really deserve to be here?

With these drug addicts and murderers?

I don't think so,

But the law doesn't protect a whore.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Inspired by Bad Girls. I wrote it to show that we all need to approach people with an open mind because at the end of it all, we all came from the same place so how can we be so different?

you have to know where i live to understand how this has affected me. my street is covered with prostitutes. i live across the street from a gas station. so walking there in a pair of shorts is impossible. i'm 25 now, but at 22, when i first moved in i underdressed, should we say. i got fed up with it. men would follow me home thinking i was a hooker. i called the law on many of these women so i could feel safe without even thinking about their side of things. though i don't agree with what they do, i think i'll stop being quite so judgemental. a piece that can do that to someone deserves to seen. i hope you have it posted in many other places.
