Can you accept me?

For me, as me

Because I am me

Of course not

I am different 

I am not like you

Maybe I don't even want you to accept me

Because in this society

There is a mold everyone is supposed to fit into

You have to be skinny

You have to be sane

I guess you have to be "perfect"

I am not any of these things

And I know you can't accept me

For me, as me

Because I am me

Why can't you accept me?

I have my own family 

Who have seen me

For me, as me

They accept me

I am not a toy

You cannot just drag me around

I am like a baby

In a new world for the first time

I have been here for 27 years

And nothing ever changes

Why can't you accept me

For me, as me
