1999 The Butterfly

By Brenda Boyte

October 1999

To be as free and as beautiful as the Butterfly,

I'll live my life to the fullest before I die.

To spread my wings and take to the sky,

and to know that below me, solid ground does lie.

Red, yellow, blue and green, some brown and gray,

as they catch the sun's ray,

The true colors of the butterfly,

all the colors of the rainbow and more,

are seen as they flutter by.

Then to hitch a ride on a warm summer breeze,

and land with delicacy on a beautiful flower with ease.

very nice. I've enjoyed reading these poems of Brenda's. We do live on in our words.
