The Christchild is coming

The Christ Child is coming, - rejoice!, exult!

Silence the world's frenzied tumult,

Let strife and contention come to an end.

The child holds peace and joy in its hand.

Open wide your heart's humble inn

To let the heavenly child come in!

Make room for it, fill plate and cup,

And let it with you dine and sup.

Washed white like snow will be guilt and sin

If only you let this child come in.

Open your arms to the heavenly child

Desirous that God  be to man reconciled.

With grace it showers the welcoming host

And fills with abundance the poor and the lost,

Open  up wide your heart's humble inn

Let  Love Eternal - the Christ Child come in!

Dear Elizabeth;

Thank you for sending this very special poem into our home on this most Holy day. It is, as is all your writings, so very beautiful. In the spirit of this season of celebration, Pat and I wish you the Holiest of Blessings from our Lord and Savior on His birthday. May the good health of the new year, to come, bring you back for another celebration next year.
