Some write of 19th Sep'14

Was just reading the newspaper and the news of Scotland's possible separation from England caught my sight alongwith other news.Someone wrote about "dividing of the skies" Sometimes if one has the time and inclination the person may discover the fine dividing line.Interestingly even a few dogs had been decorated with signs saying "yes' or "no" to the separation. So Respected Readers who may glance at this paste is it right to fragment ? How much more will we fragment ourselves !!!!! Learned geographists are drawing maps with lines in different colours Surprised Readers.. can I have the liberty to ask... Why are tombstones white ??? Then there are the pretty colours of the flowers, butterflies, birds, leaves and the vanishing rainbow. If this piece would've been typed in white across the white background then what ? That would be "truth" and "pure" Maybe this is why the most beautiful monument of love in my country is the Taj Mahal in pristine white marble. I believe memories must become blank or rather white and colourless at the last breath... Who can say !!!

Durga Puja is only 11 days away and Kolkattans are very busy shopping for clothes. Hawkers have also spread their wares on the footpaths and do not have any dearth of buyers. A local radio station was telling last night to donate Rs.250/- for autistically challenged children. The money would buy coloured putty and other small educational toys.I lull myself to sleep listening to songs at very low volume on the radio and wake up to it also. The program from 5 a.m. to 7 a.m. is the devotional type and quite refreshing.

Readers !!!!!..... those infernal mosquitoes !! they begin biting right away from 7 a.m. and throughout the day Frown But looking up at the clear blue sky with the cottony clouds the stings seem to cool down. Are you reading still ? You must be thinking that this time his marbles are really lost for good Laughing

In another 10 minutes from now my chores will begin. I may be back to complete this piece i.e. write more  rubbish . Hello Stardust !!!! Can you hear me ??? Kolkata during Durga Puja is fairyland.Write about your experiences. You are young and full of bounce & energy. Pick up the keyboard and jumb on Smile Or should I send you a PM to kickstart you Laughing Readers will like to see Pujas at Kolkata through young, colourful eyes and mind and not myopic ones like mine. Dear Readers I assure you that I'll write about Kolkata Puja if Stardust doesn't. I prefer living in "fairydreamland" for now Smile

"Somewhere along the long circular path we're destined to meet. The circle was tiny to begin with.. now it's very very huge and I just can't see what lies beyond..."Surprised

Let my keyboard lead the next reader to a Durga Puja "pandal" just two minutes walk from my humble shack which I still call my home.A week back holes were dug in the place and today I saw a bamboo structure which shall become the home of the 10-handed mighty Goddess Durga on 30th Sep. There is a tarpaulin sheet or oh.. sorry.. dark coloured canvas about 25 sq mts for a ahead to protect the clay goddess from rain which as the weatherbees say is likely Frown The criss-cross bamboos have been tied together with coir ropes. As people go to and from the market, they gaze hopefully at the "pandal" which will slowly but surely come up in all its spendour. A magician weaving his/her magic spell over the Kolkattans. Yes !! makeshift"Egg roll" shops, colourful balloon vendors and sundry eatables and trinkets will be sold and bought by the dozens by children, men & women in all their year-best new clothes Smile It will be fun for all !! I just hope that rain doesn't play spoilsport.

When the beautiful clay Goddess ,clad in pretty ornaments & brandishing weapons astride the demon piercing its heart, comes onto the "pandal" she'll weave fantastic magic all around her. Who says one has to see a wizard or fairy to see real magic !! The beating of the "dhakis"(drummers) the noisy clusters of tiny children clutching onto their balloons or toys wearing fragrant new clothes... that's what I call magic ! We'll forget all our differences for those 4 happy ,magical days and gape in awe and thoroughly enjoy the revelry.Kolkatans love her annual visits. You must too if you see her at the 5000+ pandals throughout Kolkata and beyond. Hey Stardust if you read this I'd like a more detailed description of some pandal of Durga in BeliaghataSmile
