Edifice - 2

Faith and imagination of the human mind

Built Edifices on the face of the Earth

From the sky given shape.. roots deep

Coloured in myriad hues by godmen

Ladies and gentlemen who walked the Earth

Some hundreds some thousands of years ago

Today their believers celebrate,iconise

Celebrate their birthdays and demise

Caste,creed,colours, religions galore

Humans are now divided- fragmented into bits

They all believe in different religions-- faith

The shattered pieces like shards of sharp glass

Pierce the innocent bodies who bleed

The killing machines invented over ages

Where is that United Edifice ?

Which once hovered nameless over the globe

The shroud of peace,humanism,brotherhood

Have these divisions done us any good?

Nicely stated, the love of religions somehow obscures the love of God, as humans in need, we seem to have gotten it backwards. Hopefully there is still time for us. I share your empathy.
