Dead Democracy

I felt like a loser
Lost my self esteem
My starched clothes bothered me
My white shirt felt black
Poor villagers of a neighbouring district
Lost their homes, loved ones
In the crossfire of politics
My blood turned cold
My heart palpitated
There were rushes of adrenaline
I saw the gory clashes on TV
"The Great Dictator" scenes unfurled in my mind
The Rise and Fall of the Third Reich
I recalled excerpts from "Brainwashing"
George Orwell's Big Brother's Doublespeak
The War of the Worlds in the Red Bastion
The sky was red, clothes were red,the river was red.....
My hopes began to sink- Democracy was dead !!

The time will come for viewers having no reactions to blood curling visuals - dead and numb with overdoses of adrenaline shots...
