At The Hairdressers.

“Short back and sides please,” the hairdresser slipped a cloth over my shoulders and spraying a fine spray of water over my rather long hair, He started cutting away the hair from my head. As is my custom I closed my eyes and waited for him to finish cutting and trimming my hair. Soft music from a radio soothed my tired body and I dropped off into a light sleep.

I heard someone greeting the hairdresser with a “Good Morning, will I have to wait long.” The answer “no I will soon be finished.” Satisfied whoever it was that had greeted.

I felt someone or something take my hand warm sun and a soft breeze with scents of exotic flowers and fruits wafted softly to my nose. I opened my eyes. An alarm signal came from my brain. This is not the Hairdressing Saloon; at a guess I would say that I am on a South Sea island.

Holding my hand was a lovely dark skinned maiden. Smiling she spoke, “Welcome to the land of your dreams, I have been chosen to show you around this island paradise.”  “My name is Lubana would you like to swim or perhaps discover this Island of your dreams?” I looked down at myself I was dressed in swimming shorts. “ I would love to have a swim in that lovely clear blue water.” I was swimming in the water and Lubana was talking to a dolphin. The dolphin swam under my body and I found myself flying through the sea playing with other dolphins that had joined us in this wonderful game.

I felt soft warm sand under my feet as I walked up the beach away from the warm seawater. Palm tree branches lined a small portion of the sand. Sitting around the palm leaves were Lubana’s relations. All kinds of fruits and drinks were ready for us to enjoy. I have never lived through anything like this before I was treated like a long lost friend.

A Familiar voice then said, “Finished that will be two shillings and sixpence please”. The Hairdresser had wiped off the surplus hair from my head and shoulders. I groggily rose to my feet took out my purse and paid him for my haircut.

I am sorry to say that this most wonderful experience has never happened again although I go at least once a moth to the Hairdressers. Have you had such an experience if so please let me know I would love to hear that others have had similar happy visits to strange lands. Bern
