Body and Mind

The body knows,

What the mind will not admit,

It felt no joy, no love, no ecstasy or bliss…

But the mind insists.

The body does what the mind decrees,

Like the beating heart,

Or drawing breath,

Or seeing things that can not be,

Like you coming nearer to me.

The mind insists

I heard your voice

I touched your hands

Kissed your face,

Felt your warm embrace,

Held you for hours unending,

My body against yours, deceived,

What is truth and what pretending?

The mind decides and it believes.

How cruel the mind

How sad the body…

But I obey.
