THE FUSE
They are casting shadows of doubt
on my ability to win this bout.
Yes, I hear the crowd, as they loudly shout
their discouraging hoorahs .
But I cannot, I shall not, pause
to pay any heed to their boos.
But, they will serve to light the fuse
to the explosion within me that’ll destroy
the enemy and win for me the prize.
