Only Human

We struggle from birth.

Living life as it comes.

Never knowing what is about to happen.

For around every corner, we face a challenge.

Fear makes us run.

Love makes us blind.

Hatred makes us weak.

We're only human... no where near perfect.

Too many people...

Not enough thoughts.

We act before we decide.

Consequences to which ourselves surrender.

The temptation we find too strong.

Our will breaks upon a simple touch,

And our eyes see what they shouldn't.

We're only human... no where near perfect.

We succeed, and we fly.

We stumble, and we fall.

Pain, anguish, and sorrow.

Laughter, happiness, and joy.

We cause war, and break battle.

We find things too intense to bear.

We let our actions speak louder than our words.

We're only human... no where near perfect.

Our breathing is so definite.

Our blood is so red.

Our features are so defined.

Our path is so long.

We live, and we die.

Facing judgment so harsh.

We chose this cycle simply because,

We're only human... and no where near perfect.
