Your Power

I thought I could withstand

Your power over me

How captivating

How Enticing

You truly are

The grace of your movement

The air that so softly departs your lips as you speak
Your thoughts

I marval at the luxurious idea

That I

Being me

Might have the chance to know

A Mere portion of what you imagine

I however

Cannot help but to wonder:
Am I as lovely as you?

Author's Notes/Comments:

This is my first poem I've wrote that hasn't been  for my HighSchool English class. I'm talking about my amazing friend who I truly love.  I completely love the way he sees and thinks about life and the world around us; pure beauty is what he is.

Very sweet and written with

Very sweet and written with such loving admiration. Almost sounds like how a child would look at a role model. You were lucky to have had a friend for a role model without having any insecurities develop. ...or maybe not. I hope not---just thought of that. ~peace~

...and he asked her, "do you write poetry? Because I feel as if I am the ink that flows from your quill."

"No", she replied, "but I have experienced it. "
