A Star Beyond Reach

Every night I walk alone on the beach

Wishing you were walking next to me

But you are like a star beyond reach

So I walk on by myself down the shore

Walking again in the same footsteps

The ones I’ve walked in many times before

  • I go alone to your favorite café

    You just left not to long ago

    That is what they always say

    I sit where you sat but it isn’t the same

    You never answer me

    When I call your name

  • I walk down the street alone as people stare

    I pretend that I’m holding your hand in mine

    But in actuality I am just holding air

    I keep on walking alone down the street

    I know people think I am crazy talking to myself

    But I am just in a love that is incomplete

  • Every night I lay alone in the dark in my bed

    I think of how it’d be making love to you all the time

    With images of you flashing through my head

    You’ll never love me no matter how much I beseech

    Every morning I wake up I promise myself

    Never to fall in love again with a star beyond reach
