it would revel in its power
the power to change
for good or bad
bring back the old beaux
rekindle old friendships
or burn the bridge
and bet the store...
or start anew
and rise from the ashes
as the phoenix of the new day
you are the new day
but anyway
think of that power
and don't you wonder of it?
where will we be?
hopefully you won't be one
that i contact but once a year
oh no, no, no, no, no

if i were the Greek goddess...
one that shifts the sands of time
i'd wrap us together with bundles of Playbills
no, no... not playboys
lunch on tuesdays?
the movies on fridays?
just chatting over the tv on sundays?
yes, indeed, and almost every week
no replacements; let's keep playing
the crowd seems to like our company
set the scene for now, for ever,
you and me...
is that
what the future holds?
