All of Your Love

Deeper and Deeper your words cut into my heart
I shudder to think you loved me
Love in such a sense cannot exist

I cannot comprehend your love, your brutal misguidings
Falling short is a mistake
A sin against you, my false idol

All of your love forgave my one curly hair
When you wanted it straight and narrow
Like the path you chose for me

All of your love lied for the sake of your righteousness

As if I already knew the chains you sautered around my neck were thrust down my throat still hot
To cauterize my bleeding heart

Of course love is blind
But all of your love was never love at all
