Passion is an F word

I was once told to go seek what ignites passion within me

I found long lists of pleasures and inspirations aplenty

After sorting them through, I came up with the F three

They are The Father, My Family and Football

A strange mix you may say, but within them I revolve

Life encaptures at least one, with all that I resolve

Institutions to be respected, all I do seems to involve

The Father, My Family and Football

The Father, Lord on high…… my teacher and my guide

You are the one who keeps my honesty, in your commandments I abide

You either carry me through my hard times or you are there by my side

Dear Father, bless my Family and our Football

My wife and my children, I puff out my chest

They give me pride and satisfaction more than any man could digest

I will guard them till my last breath, my life to family I invest

Lord and Father to my Family bring on Football!

The breeze on my face. The crowd’s buzz on high

The anthem, the flag and a shameless tear in my eye

Adrenalin overtakes me like the ball I CAN FLY

A gift from the Father to the Family we embrace Football

I said it was strange to combine such extremes in one breath

But I will embrace these three passions till the day of my death

Never underestimate the power of the F

The Father, The Family and the Football

Wonderful! I agree whole heartedly. I have only one exception--not football, but painting. Painting is one of my own passions, but I go back to the first (The Father) to thank Him for that one also. I have really enjoyed your work.
