THE BULL HORN

Folder:
LYNN

Your eye’s close half way,

And your breath, almost stills for a split second,

And the gasping air from your lips, forms and “I Love You.”

Then you choke down a knot in your throat barely clears.

The smell of you is intoxicating,

Like I’m transported to some far away island of native’s who,

Render me zombie like with some insane herbal elixir.

I breathe out, yet I feel air rushing into my chest,

And you say, “Honey, what’s wrong?”

“It’s the bull horn.”  I tell you.

That insane feeling,

Of an electric bull-horn,

Placed on your chest,

Above your heart.

I hear us….

        Breathe as one,

        Kiss as one,

        Caress eachother as one,

        Come as one…

In one quick flash of a dream, and I am over-wrought with emotion.

And the auctioneer starts the bidding.

The cadence of his voice, beats a rhythm of ferocious sound waves on my chest

         That confuse my heart,

Into thinking it’s metered on the wrong interval and my chest becomes painful.

I am reeling,

Do I tie you up and never let you go,

I could never live without you.

Or do I toss you back into loves ocean because YOU are too special for me.

                  YOU SHOULD HAVE

                   SOMEONE BETTER

Albeit, my inner doubts quell as your soft lips touch mine,

         Breathing,

         Cadence,

         Bidding,

Faster and faster and Faster…..until, I

Have to let go.

I have to push you away,

My heart is beating into rhythms never made before.

My chest is so tight, I can’t breathe,

I am panicking , is this asthma?

The bidding….faster and faster.

I wave good-bye as I walk out your door.
