Emotions Are . . . .

~~~ Emotions are ~~~
The feelings that were yours
the first time
you looked into the eyes of the one you love,
And knew that it was they,
that would forever hold your heart.
~~~ Emotions are ~~~

Remembering unexpectedly

The first time your baby smiled.

~~~ Emotions are ~~~
Watching your mother
that has always been so independent,
growing older before your eyes,
and knowing
it is she, who is now dependant upon you.
~~~ Emotions are ~~~

Hearing your only grandson say

"Grandma, I love you"

with such clarity

you wonder if

he really feels

the words that he is saying.

~~~ Emotions are ~~~
Feeling as if your heart will burst with pride
at the acomplishment of goals met
by your children.
They are also the cause of a broken heart
when you watch them face their first true sorrow.
~~~ Emotions are ~~~

The weeping of your heart the day before

A long awaited visit must come to an end.

It is knowing that the tears that today fills your heart

Will tomorrow escape your eyes.

Emotions are waking up to knowing

The smile that had blessed your heart

Has become invisible

Now once again left to memory

Until a time known only by God.

Emotions of separation

Are so hard to bare

And are not easily put aside.

Because of them

I have been brought back to words already written

To add an emotion forgotten

But today,

too sadly remembered.

Kimberly, I will miss you!

~~~ Emotions are ~~~
So much the part that makes us the people
who are we.
They can bring us to great joy,
or they can cause our heart's to weep
with the passing of someone we love.
Emotion sometimes causes us to
Cling too tightly.
Love too deeply.
Hurt too easily.
Through our emotions
we are taught lessons of the heart
that are to become our strengths
in the future.
Being true to our emotions
allows us to look into a mirror
and somewhat like
the person that looks back at us.
Each time I enter this site
That is now so much a part of who is me
It is the words of my emotions
That you see as the person
Who sits behind these keys.
To love,
to smile,
to be drawn to someone
just because of the beauty of their words...
To have a tear escape our eyes
because a song has touched our heart,
or to feel anger,
because of an injustice of a day...
are all a part of this word
of so many meanings.
~~~ Feelings of emotion are ~~~

The part of our soul

that seeks release

in another form other than

a smile or a teardrop.

Emotions beg to be shared

and not held too deeply within.

If it were not for our emotions

~ Poetry ~

Would have no basis for it's beginning.

It's ending never seen.

I like this poem.
You are so right.
Emotions can make us feel so many things.

Ozjan Yeshar's picture

Emotions are our reflections, experiences and expectations. It will conquer us no matter of what we do.

I loved the way you went through that poem with warm emotions. Cheers
