Lenore oh sweet and precious Lenore
How you became a forgotten bride
How you lived in vain for the wretches of wealth
Waiting for the moment to take feeble heath

Lenore oh sweet and precious Lenore
How you feel the pains I keep to my pride
How you understand the longing to be free
To be free and always loved with me

Lenore oh sweet and precious Lenore
How you know the things I long to hide
How you left in sorrow still so young
Like me upon the slanders of his tongue

Lenore oh sweet and precious Lenore
How harshly death threw you aside
How you lived the life of dreams and song
To be the muse of the proud and strong

Author's Notes/Comments:

"Wretches! ye loved her for her weath and hated her for her pride, And when she fell in feeble heath, ye blessed her-that she died!" - Edgar Allan Poe

Poe is also my favorite. So misunderstood a genius of his time. A man of heart no one could undertand for they could not be within his being. The gentle soul who tried to please so many yet remained rejected in the end. Only since his death have many woken up to his heart and his genius. No doubt he looks down smiling an ironic smile unseen...
