"For A Friend"

Folder:
Lost Loved Ones

I thought of you today.

Funny how you think of things.

I thought of your virtuous

And innocent heart

And how you're greatly missed.

I thought of you today,

And it hurts to think of you.

I spoke of you today.

Wierd how conversation goes.

I spoke of how you bravely

Confronted my foes

And saved me from their hands.

I spoke of you today,

And it hurts to speak of you.

I remembered you today,

As if I could forget.

I remembered in those last hours

You tightly squeezed my hand

            And told me

Everything would be okay.

I remembered you today,

As much as it hurts to remember.

Author's Notes/Comments:

This is in loving memory of all my friends and all my loved ones that have went before me.

I liked this poem, an ode to past friendships, beautifully expressed.
