And I remember

I am pretty

Pure

Whole



Broken crayons

Broken promises

Broken bones

Crushed spirits



In my mind I am a princess

I am happy

I sing I dance

I am pure

I am whole



Monsters come out at night

Not out of the closet

But in my bedroom door



In my mind I am a princess

Do you hear me!!!

I AM A PRINCESS!

AND MY LIFE IS LOVELY

AND HAPPY

I AM PURE

I AM WHOLE



Monsters hold me down

Tears streak my face

I’m not really pure…



But in my mind I am a princess

My parents love me

I am happy

I am pure

I am whole
