The original of this wrote itself, but by the time I got around to writing it down, I had forgotten it, so I worked with what I could remember adding elements as I thought them out.  Unfortunately, it got away from me and I had to shuck most of it.  This is just the core, and I'll probably rework it to get some of the elements I dropped back in.
