Broken Window, Thunder, Rain and A Flash of Memories

How unusual, maybe a blessing

in disguise -

When a broken car window

And sudden thunderstorm

Could bring loads of wonderful memories,

Back to the time of childhood, of 'carefree life'...

Our bicycle shop,

Dad and I fixing stuff -

My first self-assembled push bike,

with gears, saddle and butterfly handle...

colorful 'spokey dokeys' and a yellow spring flag

which I hate.

Of highschool crushes,

And the puppy love drama-

of the boy on the mountian bike

who never made it on Christmas Eve

to give me an 'angel with a broken wing'.

Memories of rain and holes on the roof,

...Of deeper life's drama -

helping two souls overcome

substance abuse.

...Of transitions and changes -

backslides, lies and

'try agains'.

...Of love's triumph

over fear and broken-ness.

Memories of second chances.

All these...remembered

because of a broken car window

and a thunderstorm.

P.S.

When it rains,

it truly pours.
