My 9-11 Poem

A somber day a year ago

So much lost, loss so dear

Nothing can take the place

Heros with stalward face

Angels help and demons prey

On our hopes and fears that day

A guiding light

A horrid sight

As the sound

Did resound

A hushed and quiet day of sorrow

The only hope there is tomorrow

Never again will we let it happen

Never again, never again

They woke the giant they did begin

But we shall end it, it shall end

Our will unbroken, I way won't bend

For our homeland we defend

Never again a day like that

Never again a sorrow like that

Never again shall we just sleep

Never again, will so many weep

We shall go on a year to the day

So much more there is to say

Silent lips and parted hopes

A line of people on a rope

Winding down the tower stair

and into the open air

The grief abound and sorrow too

I give an hour to you

Those that died in nine eleven

Those the angels took to heaven

Author's Notes/Comments:

I do not believe in a religion, but what ever god those people believe in, may their souls rest in peace under that name.
