My first grandson

My First Grandson

I remember the day you came, so small,

The world stood still, I heard love call.

Your tiny fingers, your gentle face,

A moment etched I can’t replace.

The years will pass, as years must do,

But I’ll always keep that first view of you.

The cradle’s song, the midnight hush,

The quiet joy, the tender rush.

Memphis, you’re my heart’s first heir,

A living dream beyond compare.

Though time may change, one truth will stay,

You’re my first grandson, always that way.
